I sometimes wonder why none of the criminals use social media? Wouldn’t it be so much easier to track them down if they were on social media? Just imagine,

“Joe Smith the rapist is on the loose and police are trying to track him down… oh wait this just in… he just checked in with foursquare which posted his whereabouts on twitter and facebook and now police are heading over to him… wait… and he just posted a picture of his new gun on twitpic.

By looking at his facebook profile, we can determine that he has 53 mutual friends with the victim meaning he knew her quite well…”

so come on criminals, sign on foursquare and make everyones life easier!

iPad is just an oversized iPhone. It claims to be the best way to experience the web. Hmm really? it doesn’t even support flash. Photos? i think cooliris plugin for google chrome previews images far better than the iPad. Video? any and evey device plays videos these days. Music? already have an iPod for that. Portability wise i would much rather prefer the iPod or any other mp3 player for that matter.

The only advantage it has is its multi touch interface and the battery life but I would much rather get an Acer Timeline with full functionality of a computer an 8 hrs of battery life minus the multi touch capability.

I really dont think this is an amazing product and was just over hyped. I truly believe Apple could have achieved far more than the iPad. Where is the innovation?

The most awkward drive

So the other day when I was driving back from work, I got stuck behind this car for almost 15 minutes because of the rush hour traffic. You might think to yourself, ok! What’s the big deal? Well, here comes the problem, I know you can’t see it clearly in this picture but you see the black circle I drew on the picture? Well… There was a person sitting there facing me, I didn’t know they made backward seats on these cars but anyways so there it was… him looking into my eyes, while I was staring at his for 15 minutes non stop. I tried changing the lane few times but just could not.

Now, you might think, WHY NOT? Well, try being in my position. Will he think it’s rude if I change my lane now? Should I keep looking at him? Will that creep him out? Should I look away, but would he think that’s not polite? So for 15 minutes I kept contemplating as to what I should do while he kept staring at me. I couldn’t help but laugh at the situation but I was trying to hide my smirk as to not appear rude. And finally, it happened… he turned away to talk to his mom and I availed that opportunity and changed my lane and drove as far away as I could.

Can you think of a more awkward drive you’ve had?

Weird Indian Ads

Every Desi mom watches South Asian channels in North America (and I am just stating that fact so you guys don’t assume that I sit there and watch Indian Dramas myself, even though I do want to know what will happen tomorrow in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki) and everytime i catch a glimpse of these amazing ads (See the video above), it makes me wonder the thought-process that must have went on while they were producing the ad.

Kabab King: Sir jee, I vant.. actually I need an ad for my restaurant

Marketing agency: Brilliant… I have an idea that will work

Kabab King: but.. does it have an amazing jingle?

Marketing agency: hmm.. I will get the most amazing singer but give us like 5 months to perfect the lyrics…

Kabab King: That is completely understandable but can you also make sure there are vyte (read: white) people in the ad as well and also a tranny (check 0:16 in the ad)

Marketing agency: Consider it done

Seriously, a kid can make a better ad than that with no knowledge of cameras or marketing techniques.

And, lets not even talk about this ad.

What the hell were these girls (read: aunties) thinking before they acted in this ad? Did they not feel stupid doing this ad?

They must either be really confident about themselves or have some amazing egos to act in such a manner because I don’t think I can ever make myself do that. Or, some how the same marketing agency (from the above scenario) convinced these girls that they are on their way to Bollywood!
